What is a 'double' tile in Gaple?

A double tile has the same pip value on both halves — for example, 6-6 or 3-3. Doubles are placed sideways on the chain and can only be extended by matching that same pip value.

What does 'chain' refer to in a Gaple hand?

The chain is the line of tiles laid on the table during a round. Each new tile must match one of the two open ends of the chain by pip value before it can be placed.

What is 'pip count' and why does it matter?

Pip count is the total number of dots across all tiles still in your hand. When a round ends in a block, the player with the lowest pip count wins — so shedding high-value tiles early is a key tactic.

What does 'gaple' mean as a move?

When a player lays their last tile and wins the round outright, that finish is called gaple. It scores higher than a block-win because the winning player holds no remaining tiles.

What is a 'pass' turn in Gaple?

If you hold no tile that matches either open end of the chain, your turn is skipped — this is a pass. Consecutive passes by all players trigger the block condition and end the round.

Your seat stays held for a short grace window. If you reconnect before the window closes, you return to the same hand in progress. If the window expires, the round is completed without your input and your remaining tiles count toward the pip score.

Standard tables seat four players. If a full table isn't available immediately, the room queue fills seats as players join — you can see the current wait count on the table card before you commit to a seat.
